Reddit Marketing Statistics

Reddit has become an increasingly important part of digital marketing as more people turn to online communities for product recommendations, brand discussions, and firsthand experiences. Its growing audience and expanding advertising business have also attracted brands looking beyond traditional social media marketing channels.

These Reddit marketing statistics examine platform growth, user demographics, community activity, advertising revenue, consumer trust, and purchasing behavior. They also cover marketing performance and the role Reddit plays in brand discovery. The figures draw on Reddit’s financial disclosures, independent research, and clearly identified advertising studies, with reporting periods preserved wherever available.

Key Findings From Reddit Marketing Statistics

For brands targeting Gen Z, platform adoption is only one consideration. Marketers also need to understand how younger consumers evaluate recommendations, compare products, and decide which sources to trust. Our Gen Z marketing statistics provide additional research on this audience beyond Reddit usage.

These findings indicate different levels of platform adoption across income and education groups. They do not establish Reddit users’ median household income or prove that Reddit users are wealthier than users of other platforms.

Reddit Community and Subreddit Statistics

  • Reddit has more than 100,000 active communities, according to Reddit’s Q2 2026 shareholder letter.
  • More than 26 billion posts and comments have been created on Reddit, according to the same report. This is a cumulative total, not annual content production.
  • Reddit reported blocking approximately 23 million spam views per day before they reached human users in Q2 2026.
  • Reddit reported a 20% reduction in users’ exposure to spam in its Q2 2026 shareholder letter.

Reddit Marketing and Community Engagement Statistics

  • 39.9% of 8,383 relevant Reddit posts analyzed by CommunityMentions contained purchase-intent signals in its proprietary 2026 research.
  • CommunityMentions reported examining more than 58,000 Reddit comments since November 2025, based on the company’s published 2026 operating data.
  • In its July 2026 monitoring analysis, CommunityMentions estimated 8–9 potentially joinable conversations per day for niches including legal services, travel, education, and finance.

These last four figures describe one vendor’s observed and classified discussion opportunities. They are not independent Reddit-wide engagement benchmarks.

Unlike feed-driven social platforms, where brands often measure engagement through reactions, shares, and views, Reddit also gives marketers opportunities to participate in existing discussions. This distinction matters when comparing Reddit with the platforms covered in broader social media marketing statistics

  • Reddit generated approximately $2.1 billion in advertising revenue in 2025, according to its full-year financial results.
  • Reddit’s advertising revenue increased 74% year over year in 2025.
  • Reddit’s total company revenue reached approximately $2.2 billion in 2025, an increase of 69% over 2024.

Reddit advertising and organic search visibility offer different ways for brands to reach potential customers. Paid campaigns provide control over targeting and expenditure, while organic discovery depends on whether relevant content surfaces in users’ searches. This distinction is central to the wider comparison between the two channels covered in our SEO vs PPC statistics.

Reddit Brand Trust Statistics

  • Reddit ad viewers were 46% more likely to trust a brand because it advertised on Reddit rather than on other social platforms, according to U.S. Luth Research cited by Reddit (2021).
  • 85% of respondents in a Reddit-commissioned U.S. survey agreed that people post honest and truthful content on Reddit (August 2023). The research covered 8,000 monthly social media users aged 18–60.
  • 90% of users in YPulse research cited by Reddit trusted the platform to learn about new products and brands (U.S., 2021).
  • 27% higher purchase likelihood was reported for products advertised on Reddit compared with other social platforms, according to Luth Research cited by Reddit (2021). This is a relative comparison, not a statement that 27% of all Reddit users make purchases.

Reddit Brand Discovery and Shopping Statistics

  • 51% of purchasing-discussion mentions in a monitored online conversation dataset appeared on Reddit, according to Brandwatch research covering October 2023–March 2024 and cited by Reddit for Business.
  • 39.9% of selected Reddit posts in CommunityMentions’ 2026 analysis contained purchase-intent signals, based on 8,383 classified posts. This reflects the vendor’s selected discussion sample.
  • 90% of respondents in older U.S. research cited by Reddit trusted the platform for learning about products and brands (YPulse, 2021).

Reddit Brand Discovery and Shopping Statistics

The second and third figures also appear in the engagement and trust sections. In the finished article, they should appear only once, in their most relevant H2, rather than inflating the total statistics count.

For ecommerce brands, the distinction between purchase intent and completed transactions is particularly important. Reddit conversations can help identify what shoppers are considering, while ecommerce statistics provide a broader perspective on online shopping and purchasing behavior.

Reddit Advertising Campaign Performance Statistics

These results describe individual advertiser campaigns or advertiser-defined benchmarks. They should not be presented as expected results for other campaigns.

  • Discover achieved a 256% higher mobile click-through rate in its U.S. Reddit campaign compared with its reported benchmark.
  • Discover achieved a 111% higher overall click-through rate in the same campaign.
  • Discover reported a 22% lower cost per click during its Reddit campaign.
  • Discover’s Reddit-specific creative exceeded the financial-services CTR benchmark by 742%, according to the campaign case study.
  • Liquid I.V. reduced its cost per action by 94% during a U.S. Reddit Dynamic Product Ads campaign compared with internal benchmarks.
  • Liquid I.V. achieved a 17× return on ad spend from its Reddit Dynamic Product Ads campaign.

Discover’s results illustrate the difference between campaign-level advertising performance and the wider process of acquiring financial-services customers. Click-through rates and cost per click describe specific stages of that process, while financial services marketing statistics offer a broader industry perspective.

Reddit Search and SEO Statistics

The ten supplied articles contain several quantitative claims about Reddit’s search visibility, including search referral shares, backlinks, and Google’s commercial relationship with Reddit.

However, these claims cannot all be treated as verified Reddit marketing results. In particular, an estimate of Reddit’s overall organic-search traffic does not tell us how much traffic an individual brand receives from appearing in Reddit discussions.

One relevant, independently documented finding concerns Reddit’s own search-related audience volatility:

  • Reddit reported 27% year-over-year growth in logged-out daily active uniques in Q2 2026, compared with 7% growth in logged-in daily active uniques. These are audience-growth measures, not SEO referral rates.
  • Reddit’s new-app-user retention improved 50% year over year on a relative basis in Q2 2026, according to the company, which emphasized that the increase was measured from a small starting base.

Reddit also reported search referral volatility during the quarter, but did not quantify a resulting marketing conversion or SEO benefit.

Reddit’s visibility in Google Search creates another potential path to discovery, including for people who may not regularly browse Reddit itself. However, appearing in a Reddit discussion and receiving organic traffic to a brand’s own website are different outcomes. That distinction is important when interpreting Reddit’s search exposure alongside broader Google search statistics.

Search exposure also does not always result in a click. A user may encounter information in a search result without visiting the source, an important distinction explored in zero-click search statistics. This means visibility alone cannot establish how much traffic or business value Reddit discussions generate.

Reddit Usage by Location and Community Type

Pew’s 2025 survey provides additional statistics on where Reddit adoption is more common within the United States.

  • 29% of U.S. adults living in urban areas reported using Reddit in 2025.
  • 30% of suburban U.S. adults reported using Reddit in 2025.
  • 18% of rural U.S. adults reported using Reddit in 2025.

Source: Pew Research Center Social Media Fact Sheet, 2025.

These figures represent adoption within each location category, not the percentage of Reddit users who live in urban, suburban, or rural communities.

Conclusion

Reddit’s growing audience, expanding advertising revenue, and active communities show why the platform deserves marketers’ attention. These Reddit marketing statistics also highlight the value of genuine discussions, where people share experiences, compare products, and seek recommendations. However, strong platform growth and successful advertising campaigns don’t automatically translate into results for every brand.

For marketers, the real opportunity lies in identifying relevant communities and understanding how people discuss their needs and purchasing decisions. Advertising can extend that reach, but meaningful participation requires a different approach. By treating Reddit as a place for conversation rather than another promotional channel, brands can make better-informed marketing decisions.
